Local activities
Skye offers a huge range of activities in a beautiful and unique landscape. Around Broadford there are coastal and mountain walks to suit all abilities. Both the Red and Black Cuillin are nearby for more challenging mountain adventures. There are several boat trips to visit seals nearby and a visit to Loch Coruisk in the centre of the Cuillin is highly recommended. Other activities include sailing, sea kayaking, golf, fresh and sea fishing and horse riding.
Skye is a haven for wildlife and you may be lucky and spot an otter on the shore in front of the house. Dolphins and porpoises regularly visit Broadford bay as well as the odd whale. Overhead you may see a golden eagles and also the rare white tailed sea eagle now nests on Skye in small numbers.
For a more relaxed holiday there are many visitors attractions from Armadale gardens, Eilean Donan castle, Dunvegan castle to visits to the whisky distillery at talisker. Locally in Broadford the Skye snake centre is an unusual and interesting trip for children. Eating out is catered for by a number of local cafes, restaurants and hotels and special meals are available at Lady Claire's Kinloch Lodge or the Three Chimneys restaurant in north Skye
